ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Gilda Henriquez Darlas, founder and director of CIDEL and the Foundation got her master degree in Artificial Intelligence at the Complutense University in Madrid.
Based on these studies she got interested in the area of mind development and thought construction. Her interest later on was expanded to look for moral and ethical transformation in human development. Hence Gilda studied religious studies and philosophy at Lancaster University.
Later on Gilda inspired by this, focused her academic interests in philosophy of education reason why she carries on her studies at Hong Kong University in China, where she got her Master Degree in Buddhist Studies. Currently with the idea that the Foundation and CIDEL contribute to opened a new educative paradigm in the philosophy of education Gilda Darlas begins her academic research by doing a PhD.
In April 2008, Gilda Darlas became an Ashoka Fellow, recognizing her as a member of an international circle of "social entrepreneurs"; who have the creativity that enables her to envision new and better ways to address persistent social problems and the entrepreneurial skill and determination required to bring her ideas to fruition.
In 2010 she won the Visionaris award of UBS bank of Switzerland for her vision and long term impact as well as for her entrepenour practices.
In February 2011 Gilda was elected for the Globilizer award in Stockholm for her global impact.
By the end of 2011 Gilda was nominated for the WISE award in Education.
